In Q4 2023, the leading communication apps on Android in Egypt showcased diverse trends in downloads, active users, and revenue. Below we break down the performance of each app based on data from Sensor Tower.

WhatsApp Messenger saw a fluctuating trend in weekly downloads, starting at approximately 235K at the end of September and peaking at 358K in the last week of December. Weekly active users remained relatively stable, hovering around 31M throughout the quarter.

For Telegram, weekly downloads peaked at 232K in early October but fell to around 132K by the end of November, before rebounding to 207K in the last week of December. Active users exhibited a slight increase, starting from 9.4M at the end of September and ending at 9.5M in December. Weekly revenue varied, peaking at $3.3K in late October and concluding the quarter at roughly $1.9K in the final week of December.

Snapchat experienced a decline in weekly downloads, starting at 195K in late September and dropping to 114K by early December, before slightly recovering to 138K. Active users saw an overall upward trend, moving from 8.7M at the beginning of the quarter to 9.7M by the end. Revenue followed a gradual increase, starting at $342 and reaching $462 by the end of December.
